My Man is Nice and All, But the Sex is Boring as Hell!
Tonight’s show continues our discussion of female sexuality and men’s judgments of it, fears, and desire to control it.
My special guest will be Alan Roger Currie, author of Mode One – Let the Women Know What You’re REALLY Thinking! and host of BlogTalkRadio internet talk show Up Front and Straightforward. Alan and I will discuss the sexual double standard men have which demands that to be worthy of marriage, a woman must be relatively untouched by other men. I’ve noticed that this attitude is especially prevalent amongst African American males, who are quick to label a woman a ‘ho if she has sexual experience.
So I wanted to know: where did this attitude and expectation originate from, and why do men have it?
We’ll also investigate women’s sexuality in long-term relationships and marriage… how do women decide between the man that is stable and the man that is a sexual God. In other words, how do women choose between the stable nice guy who may be trustworthy and a good father figure, but who is sexually boring, and the guy that makes her feel like a total woman but who may be a player?
Being caught in this postion is a very real challenge for many, many women.
Some decide to marry the boring nice guy, only to be sorry about it later. Others choose the uncommitted player that may be good in bed but has little else to offer, and they’re sorry about that choice later as well.
Seems an impossible dream to have a nice guy that is a skilled dynamo in bed, but that is what most women dream of. Since we can’t always get that, what to do ladies? What to do?
