Romantic Deception: The Lies Men Tell
Dishonesty and the lies men tell with the goal of manipulating and controlling women are a real problem in modern relationships. The fraud, hiding of important facts, falsification of background, and pretense is so widespread that many law enforcement officers are suggesting that women use private investigators to validate a man’s background and marital status before becoming intimately or financially involved with him.
This show provides women with important guidelines regarding what they should look for to determine if the man they are involved with really is who and what he says he is. We’ll go over the deceptive behaviors men display towards women, and how women can recognize (early!) the signs that her new partner is not being honest. Our special guests are the authors of Romantic Deception – The Six Lies Men Tell.
Dr. Caldwell is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Texas State University (San Marcos), where she has been the recipient of several awards for excellence in teaching. A native of Texas, Caldwell completed her B.A. and M.A. degrees at Southern Methodist University, and she holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas.
Caldwell’s fascination with the topic of Romantic Deception started more than a decade ago and, as she puts it “the topic remains as compelling and intriguing to me as the day I first started my research.” As one of the few scholars on the topic of deception in intimate relationships, Caldwell has appeared on many television and radio shows, and her commentary on the topic of Romantic Deception is routinely sought out by news organizations and the popular press.
Darlene Adams is a highly skilled Internet researcher and the owner of E-infoseek.com.
