The absolute best article ever written about the religious pimp game! Full of humor and yet SO TRUE!! Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!

  2. Tracy says:

Deborrah, are you going to do an article on this Eddie Long character?

How much y’all wanna bet that wife of his is gonna be by his side, even after he was messing with teenage boys.

Crazy ass church folks, I swear. They’re the biggest devils.

My sister lives in ATL and she said the New Birth congregants were out there in the parking lot doing a prayer circle in their cars! LOL

Discernment of the spirits will help determine who’s on the up and up. Even for people who are not believers, common sense should kick in. But unfortunately there are alot people who just won’t take the time to investigate and find out the truth for themselves. These are the type of followers that keeps the Quentin Atticas going strong.

  4. winner says:

what does a preacher do throughout the rest of the week anyway. think about it

    • Raz says:

A lot of small time preachers hold down regular jobs and church is a second income for them maybe even tax free.

  5. Tiffani says:

Are your articles meant to be satire? Just curious!

    • No. This is some real shit right here girlfriend.

      • Craig D. says:

Deborrah, you hit another one out of the park! This is some good ass game right here!!!

Deborrah, I saw a youtube video clip by goddessnetwork, anyway she was blaming black women for all this mess going on in the black church including mosques??? Here is the link :
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=184x9bG_q35
or just go to youtube and search Thegoddessnetwork Bishop Long black women. I thought she was crazy to blame black women at first until I listened. What she means is that black women are enablers for men like Eddie Long. We have to strengthen ourself through knowledge. Know Thyself – that is the key. Keep on Teaching….

Very true. I hope more people get a clue.

  7. chocodivine says:

You should retitle this article, “The Blueprint: The Pimp Game of Prosperity Gospel.”

Maybe Jay-Z can do a soundtrack for it. LOL…

You laid this out quite eloquently. My mother and I had a heated debate about this very issue and you’ve laid out my exact comments to her in print.

I also touched on the fact the fact that women need to be more discerning when it comes to church affiliations and what they commit their finances to. Black women in particular need to do more vetting when it comes to churches and dating.

Yes there’s some truth to many preachers as the exploiting, pimp-hustler conman. But there are real men and women who are serving the Lord and trying to bring people to Christ. They’re not driving benzes, have big homes or sexing all the sisters in the church. They’re organizing soup kitchens, clothes drives and trying to build housing for the elderly. Let’s not oversimplify and reduce the men and women in the church to charicatures. But let’s call out the ones who are no good and further damaging fragile people.

    • Raz says:

Free: “Let’s not oversimplify and reduce the men and women in the church to charicatures. But let’s call out the ones who are no good and further damaging fragile people.”

How about let’s not continue to stick our heads in the sand and ignore the fact that the church by and large is is a pimp game run mostly by evangelical pimps. Nobody is denying that there are people in the church doing good work. But you don’t have to go to a church in order to organize a soup kitchen, clothes drive or build housing for the elderly. Plenty of non church goers do good work and their time and money goes directly to the charitable source, and not funneled through ‘The Church‘ first. Those who do good work through the church, will continue to do good work and may decide they don’t need to funnel their ‘good works’ through the church . However people need to get over the attitude that the institution of organized religion i.e. The Church’ is beyond reproach and can’t or shouldn’t be criticized. This attitude has allowed the church to let’ evangelical pimpism‘ run rampant, unchecked and unchallenged for eons. We all know that ‘Power unchecked becomes corrupt’ and the institution of the church is a prime example of that. It’s time for a wake up call and Ms. Cooper is sounding the alarm! Ding, ding, ding!!’
Them that have ears ‘let them hear’. (lol)

  9. Jenny says:

I read this to my mom. She says, “Preach it, sister!”

  10. Cynthia says:

This article is so on point!! After reading it, I find the Bible verse Matthew 7:15 takes on a whole clearer meaning as it applies to these con artists heading up churches.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

Except these days the ‘sheeps clothes are $1000 dollar Armani suits. (Ministers aren’t even trying to hide their avaricious nature). And folks are so dumb, they think all of that is meaningful. Religion is the biggest game created to fool and control people and most definitely is the root of the evils committed in this world. This article though hilarious, is so true.

I can think of quite a few currently well known wealthy tele-evangelist who have gotten rich off the backs of the weak and vulnerable people coming to them needing their help, but they are getting played. So sad, but so true. People are pimped and they are too blind to see it. You don’t need church/religion/minister to have your own personal spiritual relationship with God.

  11. Woo Hoo! says:

    Yes Lawd! Sweet Jesus!

  12. Raz says:

In these hard economic times, somebody is going to read this article and get their ‘church pimp game on. LOL.
They are going to start their own ‘church pimping bidness since there are no jobs. And when people’s morale is low, they are more likely to ‘flock like sheep to the nearest tangible ‘savior’ (wolf in shepherd’s clothing).

  13. Mssensual says:

    ROTFLMAOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Good one!
