Feminism, Black Men & Black Relationships – 8/22/10

Why do so many Black men point to feminism as the sole reason the Black community is in a shambles?

Why is it that African Americans, especially those shrouded in religious doctrine, are so against feminism? Is the sexism associated with religion so prevalent, so pervasive, that both Black men and women are afraid of women gaining freedom of choice and the right to do things the way they want to instead of the way MEN WANT THEM TO???

“You’re a feminist!” is a phrase uttered with the utmost disdain by Black men, and being called a feminist is right up there with being called a bitch.

What is it that feminism means to Black men and women, and why are so many African Americans against feminism?
